Concerns About the Phillies' Bullpen

I'm not a big fan when it comes to soft stats. The most relevant hard stats in this discussion should be that the Phillies are fourth in the major leagues in the most blown saves, and they are sixth in the most blown leads. I have had almost no faith in the Phillies' setup men and "closers." The NLCS against Arizona did nothing to restore my faith, and in high-leverage situations when the Phillies have the lead late in the game, nothing has restored my faith this season either.

Let’s not let an eight-game lead in the division allow us to put pretty wallpaper over the obvious. We need a reliable setup man and a good, intimidating closer.
