I greatly admire Jeff McLane's writing and insights. It was likely no accident that Josh Sweat pulled him aside in the locker room weeks ago to voice concerns about teammates. There seems to be self-deception and denial, a lot of hope with little substance.
McLane graded every unit on the Eagles an F last week, and given previous performances, it should've been expected. The Eagles are no longer a cohesive team, lacking agreement on calls made by coaches.
Without faith in each other or the coaches, the Eagles are broken. The Bucs don't need more talent; they just need to function as a team. The Eagles lost their competitive self-confidence weeks ago, unable to clean up previous messes.
To win in the playoffs, there must be collective efficacy—trust in teammates and coaches. The Eagles are a disaster, unlike the Japan Airlines crew that calmly handled the crisis when the plane caught fire.
Unfortunately, Nick Sirianni and his coaches haven't developed effective strategies for their units In my opinion, the Bucks will win outright, and it won't be pretty.
