Another unimpressive performance by Jalen Hurts in the first half. Against a strong opponent, this kind of start could prove fatal. While Hurts didn’t light it up in the second half, he did enough to secure the win, especially with his legs. That acrobatic stretch for the first down was a highlight. However, there were no significant downfield passes, except one to a wide-open Dallas Goedert.
The defense deserves a lot of credit, particularly in the second half. They delivered when it mattered and held strong in the first half to keep things close.
Tonight’s matchup against the Rams will be a bigger test, as they bring a more explosive passing game than Washington’s. And, of course, next week’s game against Baltimore looms large. After these two challenges, we should have a much clearer picture of what this team is capable of achieving.
