Poor opening drives continue to plague the Eagles, in stark contrast to last year's offensive performance that marched down the field almost every first drive. The change in offensive coordinator and quarterback with Jalen Hurts has certainly made a difference.

The defense faced significant struggles, allowing a rookie quarterback with a checkered history to have a career day. While last year's defensive coordinator was problematic, I'm not seeing substantial improvement from the current DC. It appears that his defensive schemes are easily diagnosable, and quarterbacks with quick releases can exploit them. This has been a recurring issue throughout the season, with only a glimmer of hope during the Dolphins game.

Despite the significant investment in the defensive line, the game primarily showcased the Washington offense, which bent but didn't break. Their quarterback had a clean pocket and ample time to throw, which is concerning given the resources allocated to the Eagles' defensive line.

We can be grateful for the playmakers like AJ Brown and Hassan Reddick, who make crucial plays to secure victories like this one. Dan, please review this for punctuation, typos, and wording before sending it to various outlets such as the Inquirer, WIP, and ESPN.

And with the upcoming game against the Cowboys, it appears that Dallas might be approaching this match overconfident, while the Eagles seem to be coming in with less confidence. From a sports psychiatry perspective, this often favors the underconfident team. Look at how well the Commanders played against the Eagles as an example.
