Flawed Finish for Texas

During a crucial moment in the game between Texas and Miami, the Texas coach instructed the players to "just get stops" with only a few minutes left and a small lead. However, this approach proved to be ineffective as Texas had previously held a 13-point lead in the second half, but saw it diminish all the way by Miami.

In a situation like this, a coach on the team that's ahead should encourage their players to remain focused, regain their lead, and continue to be aggressive. By solely emphasizing defense, the coach inadvertently sent the message that the team should play conservatively and avoid taking risks.

This approach is similar to the prevent defense tactic used in football, which often results in the opposing team making a comeback. The Texas players deserved better guidance and a more proactive strategy that would have allowed them to maintain their lead and secure a victory.
