The Eagles should not play Saquon Barkley this Sunday when they face the Giants. Yes, he is within range of breaking Eric Dickerson’s record.

However, remember what happened when Rob Thomson foolishly let Michael Lorenzen proceed with a no-hitter after he had already exceeded 100 pitches by the seventh inning. At 120 pitches, Lorenzen was essentially done for the season.

Psychologically, it would also be a shot in the arm for the Eagles to see Barkley forgo an individual honor for the sake of the team. Different Eagles players seem to be doing that, and it builds team cohesion.
