Will The Eagles Coaches Prove Themselves?

There is great hope in Philadelphia this season because for the first time since 1980, the Eagles have an average or above average player at every position except punter. In some cases they have a good to very good player and in a few cases they have an excellent player at various positions.

However, based on last seasons performance, one cannot reasonably think that these two, now second year coaches, are going to be able to mold their respective units into cohesive forces. Both Sirianni and Gannon teetered on the brink of being fired, at least by the Fanbase and the media. They lost to the New York Giants in week 12 and were crushed by the Cowboys in both games. They only Beat one .500 Team, the Saints. They were each horrible in the playoff game against Brady and the Bucs. Ineffective. Unprepared, Though they had already played the box last year.

It takes more than talent on paper to go deep into the playoffs. It takes good coaching, players who buy into the system, and players who are playmakers. I am skeptical about the coaching. Sirianni and Gannon have a lot to prove this year.
